Homeschool Initiative
What to Expect with the Homeschool Initiative
When your student joins our homeschool initiative, they will:

Complete enrollment procedures and agree to the guidelines of the homeschool partnership.

Be accepted into the initiative and become a part-time DC student.

Register for classes suitable for their grade level and age.

Attend classes faithfully, adhering to our attendance policies.

Follow all policies, rules, and regulations outlined in the Parent/Student Handbook.

Seniors seeking a diploma from Decatur Christian School must be classified as full-time students, taking a minimum of 5 classes per guidelines, to participate in commencement and awards activities.

Juniors and seniors will have the unique opportunity to enroll in Accounting taught at DCS, a dual-credit course with Richland Community College.

Middle School (4th through 8th grades):

We welcome homeschool student-athletes to participate in our high school teams. According to IHSA guidelines, high school students must be enrolled in at least one (1) core academic class each semester to be eligible to play on an IHSA registered team. Elementary and middle school homeschool students can join our teams without restrictions, as our elementary and middle school teams are not registered with IESA.

We offer a wide range of elective courses for homeschool students. Please note that high school students have the option to take both core classes and elective courses.
